Nihaarika NEGI

Nihaarika Negi is an international interdisciplinary artist & creator (US/UK/EU/India) working across film, theatre, live art and new media. She makes conceptually inventive work that allows us to reframe marginalized narratives through a humanist gaze. Through her stories, she seeks to make space for diverse female Indian voices in a sustainable global context.

She holds an MA in Physical Performance & Actor-Training from the University of Exeter (UK) – under master practitioner/pedagogue, Phillip Zarrilli, in the Psychophysical Acting methodology that uses principles of East-Asian meditative martial arts practices to create self-directed performance, train actors and create ensembles.

Using participatory performance, magical realism and contemporary folktale – Nihaarika merges these methodologies to tell stories that seek to capture our imaginative potential for healing and change. In LA, she has worked in Development and Programming for companies like Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners, Charles King’s MACRO Ventures, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.

She is currently writing on a show for Disney+ in India, creating a graphic novel series with Sacred Bulls Media (LA), developing a live immersive performance.
