Fatoumata Fathy SIDIBÉ

Fatoumata Fathy SIDIBÉ is a committed multidisciplinary woman: author, lecturer, community activist, honorary member of the Brussels Parliament and Knight of the Order of Leopold. With a Master’s degree in communication and journalism, she has worked in the fields of journalism, multimedia, publishing, social work, development cooperation and continuing education. As a journalist, she has collaborated with numerous Belgian and foreign magazines. In 2006, she co-founded the Belgian Ni Putes Ni Soumises Committee (Wallonia-Brussels), under the banner of “laïcité, mixité et égalité”, and served as its president until February 2009. From 2009 to 2019, she is a member of the Brussels Regional Parliament. After ten years in office, she decided not to stand for re-election in 2019 and left active political life. Her career has led her to speak at conferences and meetings in schools, universities and associations around the world. She regularly speaks on issues relating to gender, diversity, inclusion, culture and human rights.
