Son GAYOUNG is a PhD candidate at the University of Bern, Switzerland with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Neurosciences from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Her research explores patterns of social behavior in social interactions within Virtual Reality, focusing on how psychological traits, such as social anxiety, relate to verbal and nonverbal behaviors like eye contact, smiling, and interruptions. By analyzing detailed behavioral markers, she aims to deepen the understanding of human interaction behavior in virtual environments and how this behavior relates to psychological characteristics. At Stereopsia, she will present results from a novel Social VR study and discuss the potentials of using Social VR as a research tool for exploring psychological phenomena in complex multimodal interactions.
