AUGUSTO ESTEVES

Augusto ESTEVES is a Faculty Member at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon – the largest and most reputable engineering school in Portugal – where he leads the HCI Lab. He has held visiting and intern positions at departments of mechanical engineering (KAIST), industrial design (TU/e), and design (UNIST); and has been a visiting professor at POSTECH, LMU Munich, and at Lancaster University. This has allowed him to broadly publish at international conferences that deal with the technical aspects of HCI (e.g., UIST, IMWUT), human factors (e.g., CHI), tangible and embodied interaction (e.g., TEI, C&C), design (e.g., DIS), and of course, eXtended Reality (e.g., IEEE VR, ISMAR, ICMI, ETRA, MobileHCI). He has further developed multi-sectoral experience through a research fellowship at Siemens, where he helped develop a head-mounted solution for field engineers.
