Hugo PAREDES received B.Eng. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minho, and the Habilitation title from the University of Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). He was a software engineer at SiBS,S.A. and NBO, S.A. Currently he is a Full Professor at UTAD. In 2017 he was visiting faculty in the HCII at CMU. He is a Senior Researcher at the Center for Human-Centered Computing and Information Science (HumanISE) at INESC TEC, and formerly Assistant Coordinator. His main research interests are in the domain of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), namely the topic of Human-AI applied to climate change, accessibility, and active and healthy ageing. He is a member of the board of editors and was guest editor Special Issues in JCR journals and organized several international conferences. He has co-authored more than 150 refereed articles. He is one of the inventors of a granted patent and a patent pending request. He is the coordinator of H2020 VR2Care project (GA 951978) and has participated and lead other national and international projects, with public and private funding.
